Vinny Rizzo
Vinny Rizzo joined the Allendale Police Department in 2012 after nearly 5 years as a police officer with the Port Authority Police Department. Toward the end of his PAPD career, Vinny started to get interested in union relations and activities. He immediately got involved in Allendale-Waldwick PBA Local #217 and was elected to be State Delegate shortly after his arrival there. To say that he found his passion looking to help members is an understatement. He was told to get involved and that’s exactly what Vinny did. In over a decade, he was appointed to 9 State PBA Committees; Collective Bargaining, Legal Protection, By-Laws, Judiciary, New Delegate, Conventions, Media Relations, Political Action, and Special Services where it was obvious that he was fully engrossed in the State PBA. During that same timeframe, Vinny also showed interest on the County level and was elected to the Bergen County PBA Conference Executive Board where he held nearly every position on that board, culminating in being elected to multiple terms as Bergen County PBA Conference Chairman.
In 2020, Vinny was elected to the New Jersey State PBA Executive Board where he has held the Sergeant-at-Arms and Trustees positions and currently is the Vice President of Communications in Woodbridge. As part of his newest title, Vinny is tasked with expanding the State PBA’s social media presence and even more importantly, hosting the State PBA’s newest venture Union Strong: NJSPBA Voices Podcast.
