Requesting Support for Sgt. John Fosbre

I am writing to request support for Sergeant John Fosbre, a fourteen (14) year member of the Berkeley Township patrol division.

Sgt. Fosbre was served with numerous administrative charges and is currently suspended without pay. These charges stem from an incident in February of 2018 in which he is alleged to have insulted a department civilian employee under his purview.

The subsequent departmental investigation led to charges which include but are not limited to;
Conduct towards employees, Harassment in the workplace, Conduct unbecoming, Neglect of duty, Incompetency, Insubordination, Failure to perform, Misuse of motor vehicle, Misuse of public property, Emergency calls and use of red light and siren, etc. The township is seeking a six (6) month suspension and demotion in rank and/or possible termination.

Sgt. Fosbre has an open disciplinary hearing on December 05, 2019, 0930 hrs in the Berkeley Twp Municipal Court at 631 Pinewald Keswick Road, Bayville, NJ 08721.

PBA 237 is requesting any support from the NJSPBA and the County/Local PBA Conference members. We are asking any members who attend to wear PBA attire as a gesture of solidarity.

Respectfully.

Christopher Shick
State Delegate Local 237
